Nita Blum-Reddick explores the intersection of people, place, and the natural world. After beginning her career nearly two decades ago producing nonfiction content for National Geographic, History Channel, A&E, and other companies, she now focuses on her own documentaries, examining human experience and communities through an observational, ethnographic lens. Inspired by filmmakers such as Barbara Kopple, Frederick Wiseman, and Lucien Castaing-Taylor, her work highlights connections between people and their environments, often addressing climate and environmental change, and has played at film festivals worldwide, earning recognition for its thoughtful, immersive storytelling.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Nita is a professor at The Sidney Poitier Film School at Arizona State University since 2019. She holds a Master’s in Documentary Studies from NAU and a Bachelor’s in Film and Media Arts from Temple University.
